Employing both 4×5 and 8×10 Arca-Swiss cameras that maximize detail, David Leventi creates a body of large scale photographs that document the intricate interiors of famous national and international opera houses, as well as roundhouse prisons, stadiums and palazzi. In these dramatic photographs, Leventi seeks to alter both lateral and vertical symmetry in order to flatten out the spaces, giving the viewer the effect of being completely surrounded by the spaces.
