Jonathan “radbwa faroush” Mayers is a Louisiana Creole multidisciplinary artist, writer, poet, independent curator, and cultural activist dedicated to reclaiming regional heritage and native languages like Kouri-Vini and Louisiana French through his distinctive Latannyèrizm art movement. His practice pairs narrative paintings of mythological beasts with custom frames incorporating earth and sediment from culturally significant sites.

A former Baton Rouge Poet Laureate (2021–2023) and founding president of Chinbo, Inc., Mayers holds a BFA from Louisiana State University, an MFA from the University of New Orleans, and is pursuing doctoral studies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Represented by the Arthur Roger Gallery in New Orleans, his work and curatorial projects have been featured in exhibitions and international residencies across North America and Africa.
