Linda Ridgway

Linda Ridgway is renowned for her lyrical works across a variety of mediums, often autobiographically inspired and rooted in a deep appreciation of literature. The poetic harmony that Ridgway is able to generate between the domestic and the industrial realm is in part owed to the technical sophistication of her methods. Originally trained as a printmaker (M.F.A., Tulane University), Ridgway approaches the foundry with a remarkable talent for establishing the ephemeral in bronze. Originally delicate materials such as textiles, plant matter, and the written word are imbued with a fortitude that does not diminish their intimacy, regardless of scale. The resulting works inspire reflection on themes of womanhood, memory, and nature.
