New Visions for the Visual Arts in New Orleans 2011 Panel Discussion

“New Visions for the Visual Arts in New Orleans,” a discussion presented by the Arthur Roger Gallery on June 9, 2011, features a panel of new leaders of major art institutions in New Orleans moderated by leading local journalist Mimi Read. The panelists discuss their visions for their institutions and the particular opportunities and challenges for the visual arts in New Orleans.

The panel, composed primarily of new leadership in the New Orleans visual arts community, includes Clayton Campbell, Director of the Joan Mitchell Center in New Orleans; Miranda Lash, curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the New Orleans Museum of Art; Amy Mackie, Visual Arts Director at the Contemporary Arts Center, New Orleans; Lisa McCaffety-Scott, Acting director of the Ogden Museum of Southern Art; Cameron Shaw, editor of Pelican Bomb; and Susan Taylor, Director of The New Orleans Museum of Art.
