“Burning the Read Sea” is taken from the painting mentioned in the first act of Puccini’s La Boheme. Stephen Paul Day incorporates into his work the passion and drama of opera by creating multi-faceted overlays of images, sound and video. “Burning the Red Sea” includes bronze sculpture and glass. The installation is successful in achieving the beauty and elegance associated with opera.
