The Arthur Roger Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of new watercolor paintings by David Ivie. In the exhibition Ivie continues his sardonic interpretation of the human psyche in a series of water color paintings that at first glance appear to be nothing more than haunting country scenes. But a closer look reveals disturbing narratives, which portray the darker side of human nature.
Ivie’s art is concerned with fears, humor, and desires. His stories are similar to those that appear in our everyday newscasts. Yet the small size of the canvases require us to get close to the works, to study them, and as a result become part of the dramas that Ivie has created.
