Gene Koss’ Line Fence, is inspired by a particular site in the Wisconsin landscape and is infused with the powerful stillness and cold, stark beauty Koss experienced there while visiting in the dead of winter. His work is also influenced by outdoor sites around the United States and the world and in various found objects he comes across. Koss states, “I travel as much as possible. I can look at a space and visualize a sculpture there, and I can look at the found object and envision it as part of a large sculpture with glass.”
