Artist Statement
My work explores concepts of fragility, compulsion, anxiety and ritual. In this piece entitled “Peepholes”, I am creating the idea of looking in on a private moment as though through a peephole in someone’s door. Our private spaces are places where we can display our weakness and vulnerability without judgement. These small fused glass photographs offer a glimpse into one person’s inner world and all of its manifestations. Oddly enough, I made this piece before the Covid-19 pandemic but it resonates with me now more than ever as we have all retreated into our own isolated world.
