Artist Statement
Though I started collecting and painting cookbooks well before the pandemic, it wasn’t until the lockdown forced me to move my studio practice home that I realized how quickly cooking and painting cookbooks had become the foundation of my daily life. It was at my kitchen table where both activities occurred, that I became aware of how central the kitchen had become for many of us, establishing a hearth and haven defending against disease and insanity.
