Srđan (Surge) Lončar is a Croatian-born, New Orleans–based sculptor and interdisciplinary artist. He is widely recognized for his photo-sculptures—familiar objects carved from foam or wood and wrapped in dense, mosaic-like photographic montages of their own surfaces. Lončar’s work examines the boundary between the real and the simulated, exploring themes of economic value, consumer culture, and memory. He is a co-founder of New Orleans’ Good Children Gallery and directs the sculpture program at Tulane University.
