“Aquaflora,” featuring Allison Stewart at the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art

An exhibition consisting of the work of six 21st cenutry artists whose work represents a landscape of layered shadows, water, petals, limbs, vines, floating leaves, and biomorphic shapes that can all be found in nature.  The colorful abstracts were created by artists Judy Pfaff and Jasmina Danowski, New York; Carlyle Wolfe, Oxford, MS; Suzanna Fields, Virginia; Bassmi Ibrahim, Florida; and Allison Stewart, New Orleans.

Aquaflora is a collaborative project between LRMA and The University of Southern Mississippi Museum of Art.  The exhibitions are co-curated by USM Museum of Art Director Mark Rigsby and LRMA Registrar Tommie Rodgers.  A total of 60 works will be on display at LRMA in Laurel and on the campus of The University of Southern Mississippi in the Cook Gallery and at the Oddfellows Gallery in downtown Hattiesburg.  Dates for the Hattiesburg locations are January 22 – March 22, 2014, while the LRMA dates are January 14 – March, 26, 2014.
