Okay Mountain Collective: Water, Water Everywhere So Let’s All Have a Drink

The Arthur Roger Gallery is pleased to present “Water, Water Everywhere So Let’s All Have a Drink,” a video installation created by the Okay Mountain Collective. The exhibition will be on view at the Arthur Roger Gallery at 432 Julia Street from December 4th, 2010 – January 29th, 2011 and will coincide with the city-wide art exhibit, Prospect.1.5. The gallery will host an opening reception on Saturday, December 4th, 2010. The artists will be in attendance at the panel discussion, “Through the Looking Glass: Video Art Today”, moderated by Dan Cameron, at the Arthur Roger Gallery on December 9th, 2010.

The Arthur Roger Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of recent photographs by David Halliday. The exhibition will be on view at Arthur Roger @ 434 located at 434 Julia Street from December 4th – January 29th, 2010. The gallery will host an opening reception to meet the artist on Saturday, December 4th, from 6 to 8 pm.

“Fierceness and Fragility: A Conversation with Lesley Dill,” Sculpture

Lesley Dill’s sculptures made an impression on me some years ago at Graphic Studio in Tampa, particularly a tea-stained, paper dress that popped outward to become three-dimensional. A large traveling exhibition of her work—recently shown at the Saint Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts and on view at the Columbia Museum of Art in South Carolina through January 3, 2011—features numerous sculptures made of metal, paper, photographs, and fabric with seamless transitions from one medium to another. Dill integrates words, myth, and ideas with a variety of materials to attract and involve the viewer.

Seventeen minutes into the Okay Mountain Collective’s (OKMT) new work at AMOA, Water, Water Everywhere So Let’s All Have a Drink (2010), a woman appears. So far the interlaced segments of the 28-minute looped video have been filled with images one would find while channel surfing late on a six-pack-filled Saturday night.
