DESCRIPTION:Artist Workshop: The Beauty of Swamp (Human\, Landscape and the Creative Process) \n\n\nReferencing her painting “From the Vine to the Vein” featured in the exhibition Profligate Beauty\, as well as other works in the museum’s collection\, artist Jacqueline Bishop will present a conversation and workshop investigating the long tradition of landscape painting\, the beauty of the Louisiana landscape and the misuse of the word swamp. Topics discussed will include the physical role of swamps\, their history in art and their future. Following the talk\, participants will use the painting process to create a surreal\, real or imagined definition of swamp. \nSponsored by the Susan J.
