Born in Corpus Christi and currently living and working in Rockport, Jesús Moroles has more than 2000 works on display in China, Egypt, France, Italy, Japan, Switzerland and the U.S. His most visible public sculpture is “Lapstrake” 1987, a massive 22 foot tall 64 ton work located across the street from the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. In 2008 Moroles was honored with the highest award given to an artist by the U.S. government, the National Medal of Arts. His exhibit at the Nave will be a diverse and comprehensive survey of his distinguished 30 year career.
