Pard Morrison

In Fields is Pard Morrison’s fifth exhibition at the Arthur Roger Gallery. Morrison’s work is both sculptural and painterly. Morrison constructs each labor-intensive piece by hand, welding the aluminum structure and firing each color of pigment separately in a process the artist describes as “patination”. His distinct patterns in vibrant reds, blues, greens, yellows, along with more muted earth tones come together to create each distinct piece. The large-scale pieces use color blocks that give the illusion of greater depth.
