Bunny Matthews

In 1982, Bunny Matthews created Vic and Nat’ly for the Times-Picayune. Vic and Nat’ly Broussard, a husband-and-wife duo, are emblematic of a city that prides itself on eccentric characters and a wealth of distinctive culture and folkways. Vic is a bulbous, egocentric curmudgeon prone to malapropisms. Nat’ly is a brassy bombshell with upswept hair who always seems to have the last word. In New Orleans, they are cultural and commercial icons. In addition, he has created a series of drawings based on African-American themes, including provocative reinterpretations of famous works by other artists.
